## Think of it like subscribing to a live spreadsheet

> Your team already tracks numbers in Google Sheets. Instead of exporting CSVs every time something changes, the **Google Sheets Connector** links OrcaSheets to that sheet. You connect once, hit **Refresh** when you need fresh data, and analyse locally on your machine.

## What is the Google Sheets Connector?

The Google Sheets Connector is a premium Connector that reads data directly from a Google Sheet URL and loads it into your OrcaSheets project.

You:

1. **Open** a project and go to **Connectors**.
2. **Select** **Google Sheets** from the connector list.
3. **Name** the connection and **paste** the sheet URL.
4. **Connect & sync** and sign in with the Google account that can access the sheet.
5. **Analyse** the imported data in OrcaSheets, then **refresh** from the right panel whenever the sheet updates.

## Why use it?

Many teams keep operational data in Google Sheets: trackers, budgets, campaign logs, and ad-hoc reports. The connector removes the export-and-import step.

For example:

- Pull a weekly KPI tracker maintained by your ops team.
- Sync a shared revenue sheet that finance updates in the browser.
- Refresh a campaign log before building a dashboard in OrcaSheets.

## How to connect Google Sheets

1. **Open** your project in OrcaSheets.
2. **Click** the **Connectors** icon in the left panel.
3. **Scroll** down and **select** **Google Sheets**.
4. **Name** the datasheet clearly so you can recognise it later in your project.
5. **Enter** the URL of the Google Sheet.
6. **Click** **Connect & sync**.

OrcaSheets opens the Google sign-in page. **Choose** the account that has access to the sheet, then **allow** OrcaSheets to read it.

Within seconds, your sheet data appears in the project. You can chart, filter, pivot, or ask questions in AI Chat like any other dataset.

## Refresh when the sheet changes

Edits in Google Sheets do not appear automatically in OrcaSheets until you refresh.

1. **Click** the **Refresh** button on the right panel in OrcaSheets.

You do not need to open **Connectors** again or re-enter the sheet URL. OrcaSheets uses the connection you already set up and pulls the latest data within seconds.

Make changes in the browser, click **Refresh**, and your local analysis stays up to date.

## Notes

- Google Sheets Connector is a **premium feature** and requires an upgraded account.
- Use the Google account that owns the sheet or has been granted access.
- Name each connection clearly if you connect multiple sheets to the same project.
